About Natasha

Natasha transferred to the University of Washington and received her Bachelor’s in Sociology. She then pursued a Law Degree from Southwestern School of Law. She graduated in 2006 and passed the California Bar. Natasha is now barred in all California and Washington State Courts and in the United States District Courts for the Eastern District of Washington. She is now also a licensed real estate broker and member of the Spokane Realtors Association.

In 2021, Natasha was selected by House Representatives Marcus Riccelli and Timm Ormsby for the Spokane County Commissioner Redistricting Committee to help create 5 equitable voting districts in an ever-growing Spokane County.

This historic bipartisan effort resulted in Democratic representation at the county level for the first time, with 2 of the 5 commissioners now being Democrats.

Natasha went on to run a historic race against Cathy McMorris Rogers in 2022, the first woman of color to run for the seat. She earned 60% of the vote in the 3rd LD and is ready to head to Olympia to ensure Spokane gets the resources is needs and deserves.

Last November, Natasha became the interim editor of The Black Lens News, relaunching an iconic Spokane Community Newspaper ensuring the African American community has a strong voice and connection across Spokane.

Natasha has spent 17 years representing people from diverse backgrounds in her legal practice, including those most vulnerable in our community.

She has built strong community connections and relationships working to uplift marginalized communities, fighting against MAGA extremism, and bringing people to the decision-making table who are too often left out of the process.

Natasha and her two children now live in the Cliff-Cannon Neighborhood on Spokane’s South Hill* and enjoy spending time with family and exploring the beautiful outdoors.

*Natasha discovered that the deed on the property she now owns contains restrictive covenants prohibiting non-whites from living there historically. She is dedicated to ensuring the history of redlining is not only eliminated in recorded documents, but in real estate market today in Spokane as reflected in current homeownership.

Natasha has always had to work twice as hard to get half as far - but that has not deterred her from going further than anyone she had ever known or seen before.

Natasha Hill was born and raised in North Spokane in the Hillyard neighborhood. Raised with her 3 siblings by a single mother and maternal grandmother, she grew up on welfare, experienced food and housing insecurity, and witnessed domestic violence and substance abuse. Natasha had to work hard to rise above her initial circumstances.

Natasha enrolled in Running Start to get ahead and completed a year of college her senior year at Rogers High School where she graduated in 2000. She attended Spokane Community College and earned her AA Degree a year later, and transferred to the University of Washington and received her Bachelor’s in Sociology in 2003. Natasha is the first in her family to graduate college and to go on to obtain a law degree.
